FIRST no pics yet, it was late when I got home and cleaning takes precedence over picture taking.
I just got a chance to take my new IBM (AO) to the range. I have printed out homemade copies of the old 25 yard sighting target. I set out 4 targets at the 25 yard marker. The first 3 I shot 5 round groups at each and a complete 15 round mag. at the last one. I was very impressed at the groups, my shooting skills are very suspect. The problem is ALL 4 targets had the shot groups at 12 o’clock very top of required impact area. I took a couple 6” sight-N-see targets out to the 50 yard marker. The first 15 round mag, using center of target as POA, had a decent group of holes about 4” above target. The next mag, I shot in 3 round groups at the last target. I walked the groups down by having a final POA about 4” below the target center.
My question is should I add a bead of “JB Weld” to the top of my front sight and re-file to correct aiming problem? Or should I just change the sight to a higher one? I love the way this thing groups, and will probable just keep shooting this until it groups like a shotgun!
Here is a pic of sight in question;
