    Bren Info

I was surfing the web last night trying to find Bren Magazine maker's marks (having just de-greased a box full) and came across this page which might be of interest if anyone hasn't seen it.

    brenpage

I'm not sure about some of the info as it seems to say that the Mk1m was only made by Enfield, but the listings of makers are a great supplement to the other great page by Amatikuluicon.

Can anyone confirm the name of the contractor for S123? I've seen it as 'Ward' and 'Wall'.

    Any help gratefully received.

Thanks for the confirmation Kevin. Bought my first bren this year (Inglis Mk1m) at Chatham and I'm on a steep learning curve. Can't wait for Beltring this year to find out what else is about!

    Best regards

    Chris

I have a MK1(M) Inglis Bren and a MKII Inglis. Got some Canadianicon tools and supplementry pouches as well.

I've got a pair of mags I can't identify. The only clear marks on them are "HC" on the left side of the mag by the rear of the floor plate.

    Greta info here.

I have 3 mags with the letters JI on one, and MA on the others.

Do you know what these letters mean?

Yes so obvious when you think about it "John Inglis"
And found the other "Munitions Australiaicon"

A bit more for the above. My late Bren mags are JII for John Inglis. Australianicon mags can also be stamped "OA" for Orenge Arsenal. If you go to Chatham Militaria fair. See James Aslett of Chelmsford Militaria.com . He will do you a deal on a CA stamped box of 12 Inglis Bren mags. He has the tools as well. Last Sunday he had a Canadianicon Army Brengun barrel bag for sale. Linen as opposed to webbing with leather trimmings.
I supplied James with the Brengun tools photographs.
    Kind regards, Lester
