    Question Springfield M1 Garand Value?

I am new to this forum and have recently acquired a Springfield M1icon Garand. I am looking for some way to ascertain its worth. It is in excellent condition S/N 2464130. It has the circle P proof mark and RA cartouche. It has a M84 scope w/S/N 25741. It has a cheek piece marked MRT 11-62. It also has a flash suppresor. Can anyone help? Thanks

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. First off welcome to the site. There are some of the most knowledgeable people you will find right here.

Pictures would be a big plus. If you don't have a hosting site you can use sites like photobucket. They are free and work quite well.

Well first off, the standard answer is "it depends" on condition and originality, or correctness. As Bill says, pictures are helpful. The second major item here would be if this is an actual M1C or M1D rifle. you say it has an M84 scope? Things to look at , is this a USGI m1C or D, is it correct? Is it USGI mount and scope, or repro? I would say a correct M1D with USGI parts that work is worth in excess of $3000. A correct M1C is worth even more. CMPicon is selling M1C WITHOUT mount or scope for $3000. CMP is selling service grade M1D without scope or mount for $1500.
