    my latest 1917 from Uncle Sam

    1. low numbered RIA..cuz i like em.
    2. one low numbered SA..cuz i like them too.
    3. one Remington 513T..have a few, and can always have alother.
    4. one SC bare receiver...just cuz i thought why not.
    5. one 1917 Drill rifle...really? didnt know they did that to 17,s
    well, i Fedex dropped off the Remington, SC and the 17.
    heres what i got.
    a nice clean Eddystone, JA barrel. broken W stock that had been repaired.
    plugged at both ends, welded. ect...

    IMHO the letters on the left side of the stock are AAOD = Anniston Army Ordnance Depot. That is the first welded-up M1917 I have seen photos of.

    100 1917 drill rifles were available, at 1 per customer, or i would have more .. like you i had never seen or heard of them....so..i wanted one. i removed the handguards, and cant find a weld at the receiver and barrel junction.
    it is blugged at the breach end as well as the muzzle, i bet i could turn the muzzle end out..but then that plug at the breach...hmmm. right now, im leaving it as is.
