Spare parts chest
Has anyone the spares box (A or B) for the Bren?
I'd like to make one but only need the right sizes...
An orginal box would be even better! (If the shipping costs don't ruin it...)

It's not the shipping costs, but rather trying to find the things !

In all my time as an Armourer, while a saw a few, I never ever had cause to use one of those boxes. The only ones I saw were stashed under the 25 yard range firing point together with a load of other assorted 'got to be stored somewhere' kit. The other thing I found under the firing point were a load of the thin cardboard, tin stapled corners boxes and lids that Mk2 Sten guns were originally issued in and used when packing parachute containers to the maquis. The list of contents was printed on the top together with the gun serial number, packing station (Weedon) and date of packing. There were literally LOADS of them. I wish I'd kept a few now. They were all full of the extra magazines, loading tools and cleaning kits. The irony was this was long after the Stens had been replaced with Sterling guns in the 80's
Gone off track again............ Oh yes. In all of our workshops the Bren spares would be kept in racks in the Armourers shops. When we were moving from Knook Camp to the new Battlesbury Barracks in Warminster in January 1966-ish, the old quartermaster still had a load of unidentifiable 'junk'. Much of which I later recognised to be Boys anti-tank rifle stuff

Unbelieveable.................. I saw one of those boxes today in an Armourers shop no less. Used by the Armourers to store their tea/coffee making kit while on exercise. Then. as we were chuckling about it, saw their 'range box' was a .303" magazine box!

I have the Modern equivelent version of the Batt Spares box.
It is for the LMG L4 series. Has a N.A.T.O Stock number on it if I recall correctly.
Same spec I would guess, just the paint finish is Satin Green rather than complete Matt Finish!
Got BOTH internal trays in it also.
I swapped an SLR Bayonet for it. It is used with my Travelling Armourers display in MY RL 3 Tonner!
