Bayonet Question
I got a shortened 1905 bayonet from CMP
. On the side (looking at it with the relaese on the left) is AFH US 1943. On the other side is a faint UFH. The hilt has a serial number stamped on it.
The scabbard has M-7 stamped on the metal and what looks like 3 III's on the "fiberglass". Any ideas on what the history is?

If memory serves AFH made it and UHF is the one that cut it down and reshaped the blade.

Moved to the bayo forum where it will hopefully get more exposure from folks who know the topic.

At the following link check Article 2 and 25 for info on the shortened 1905's, the links are at the bottom of the page.

Then check Article 22 for info on your bayonet when it was first manufactured.

Scabbard is one of the later manufacture types by Danes I think...that triple H thing.

Having looked at my Danish
Army bayonets. Stampings are Crown over FKF or HTK. ( Depot stamps). Triple I or H , might be International Harvester made fibreglass scabbards. Danish made scabbards are plastic with a wood effect. Tend to get brittle with age.
Hope this is of interest. Lester

Lester you're right about the Danish
scabbards. International Harvester didn't make the scabbard though. They are from Tiawan and go with the bayonets marked KS at the hilt.

. Thank you very much for the confirmation above. I picked up a June 1960 KS produced Taiwanese Garand
bayonet with an International Harvester scabbard. Did not have any idea if this was correct or not. Another mystery solved!!
