I believe that the style changed in Oct/November 1944 from Roman to Arabic. It would fit in with your 1944 Mk2. But give us the gun number and it'll certainly date it quite accurately
Next question
An added afterthought....... At the same time, the early Mk3 Bren Guns changed as well.

I've got the change listed as Aug 44, which means a M67 marked Mk2 should have a serial number of RA3500ish to RB6000ish
The Inglis MkII appears to have stayed marked as MkII as one of my MkIIs 1945 Number 15T6949 is marked as such.
Rb4174
always on the lookout for another bren with the 2 instead if II but still never seen another
I never discovered why we changed from Roman to Arabic. Maybe we liked the Arabs more than we liked the Romans. How times have changed!!!!!!!
'What did the Romans ever do for Us'?.................(With apologies to Monty Python!)![]()
Besides the roads? Oh and the aqueduct?
I think there was a TV series called 'What the Romans did for us'. I didn't watch it, except the bit about paying their Soldiers in Salt, hence salary. I'm glad I'm not getting paid in salt now!
