    MK4 no1 "t" question

    Hello all!

Im new here, very new!!! I have a a few questions that I am looking for some input on.

I have been doing a ton of reading and haven't found the answers that I am looking for so I thought it would be safe to post.

Ok, first question, is it possible for a MK4 to have a 1943 date on the wrist band, and No 32 MKIII scope with a 1945 date on it? The band has a TR, and the receiver has a T stamp.

I don't know if the serials all match up, I also don't if it has the S51 stamp either. I hope to find out soon when I get a look at it. (friends dad has it)

Also I think the stock has been sporterized

    Thank you for your help.

Yep, it's possible but it's probably a mis match. A '43 dated rifle would most likely have been set up with a Mk.I or II. Post some pics if you can.

Yep; what VH says! The Mk3 scope didn't appear till Autumn (Fall) 1944 & to the best of my knowledge is only likely to be 'matching' on 1944 & 1945 dated rifles.

It could be a legit telescope upgrade in service but in that case, the telescope number would be stamped on the top of the wrist of the buttstock underneath the cancelled or lined out original telescope number.
