That's an awesome collection sakorick! If you get time I would like to see some close-up photos. I'd like to see what the cartouches look like.

    Regards,
    ~ Harlan

Here you go. The Remington has Frank J Atwood's FJA on the left side stock just below and under action, boxed P on bottom of grip and Red River Army Depot RRA-C on right side of action indicating it went through the depot and reissued at some point in time. The -C is a mystery unsolved.

The Stevens has a boxed Springfield Armory L side center buttstock with several unknown initials under the SA and a very vivid circle P on the grip. As you know, these cartouches are fairly rare as they went through overhaul many times and the stocks were refinished. I would say that both of these stocks are original to the rifle.

Mossberg never used a P proof cartouche but did occasionally stamp the Ordnance cartouche on the r side center of the buttstock. These are very rare as 99% of the Mossies went through many Depot overhauls during their long lifetime. There are several of these shown on the Mossberg forum, Rimfire Central under the 44US sticky. Regards, Rick.

Just out of curiosity, does it have the Britishicon Proofs? The last 1000 rifles in the contract stayed home and as such have no proofs.....fairly rare. Regards, Rick.
