Striper clip loading
Picked up a 5.56 repacking Bandoleer set with bandoleer, strippers, cardboards, and clip charger.
No problem loading the 10 rounds in the stripper but how does one load the mag? It keeps hanging up on the first round. Got me beat. Faster to load a 30 rd by hand.
They did not cover this in AF boot. Just M16
stripping, assembly, and firing for expert. My training was more on the .45 as a carry weapon. Thanks....

It is Federal 55 FMJ. Loads fine by the single. Stripper fills in just enough of the mag that the bullet tip hangs up by a tiny amount Thanks....

magazine loading
The cartridge is not a 5.56mm military round, it is a 5.56 or 223 cartridge with a rim or "wildcat" cartridge. The cartridge with the rim will not work in the magazine or the rifle,
I placed it in the magazine to fool my friend in NJ but he noticed it right away

Thanks for the explanation! I couldn't figure out what that round was! At first "30-40" crossed my mind, but that's way too big. Didn't want to spoil your fun, though.

I thought .222 myself.
AF Medic, if you turn the mag points up, place the mag against your chest and pull the cartridges towards you they will all seat on the base. The points will not catch then. You just need to practice this a bit.

if you turn the mag points up. I am missing what you are saying. Sorry!

You put the charger on the mag. Put the cartridge clip in the mag charger. Turn the bullets up and put the base of the mag against your chest or stomach. The base of the cartridge settles into the magazine when you pull and the points of the bullets don't catch on the front of the mag.

I believe I found out the problem. The strippers must have been made to a strict tolereance and it requires an immense amount of effort to move the cartridges off the stripper. Your instructions do work after I got the cartridges moving in the stripper. Almost wanted to oil it but that is a "No-No".

Maybe just grab some new repack kits at the next gunshow...
