This drill press and lathe needed to find a new home, but first they had to get outside through a regular old door way as seen on the left of the top photo.





The drill made it out first, but the lathe was first to it's new home a bit over a km away.

Hmm, load it on a fifth wheel and tow it over? They ain't exactly making big classic machines like that anymore...just like with that horizontal mill behind it.

Well, the guy unloading it from the 18 wheeler said that based on his loadmeter it weighs about 60,000 lbs. The mill behind it ran about 9-10,000 lbs.
Anybody that wants that mill can have it for free. The overarm support is inside. It can probably be made servicable again with a lot of TLC. It wasn't "used up" like my #2 Cincinnatti, but it is fairly weathered.
My beef with it is that the spindle speeds available are just too slow-well less than 1000 RPM, max.

The drama with the planer is the new shop just isn't big enough to contain it , unless all the other stuff goes. I got it to do P40 wing parts and tooling, but that project is long past- I think!
