    (SP) Mag Question

(SP) marked mag, 15rd. With the common Type1 floorplate, but also has a drain hole not quite near the center of the bottom plate. No ridge plate on the bottom.

    A: Type 1 ?
B: Misc issue like the U and Rugg mags?

    TIA,
    Charlie-painter777

I've got an (SP) 15 rd. with the ridge in the floorplate. I don't know if the floorplate is original. I've got it cataloged as a Type 2 "replacement" by Seymor Products as per Riesch 6th edition. - Bob

addition: Physically checked the (SP) mag and I had it cataloged wrong. It has a flat floorplate with a drain hole - doesn't look like it's ever been off the mag.

    Thx Bob,
I found myself only having a couple "EW" and a early WRA checkered safety. So was out looking for a plain face type III. Found and bought one on GB, But noticed the guy had a really nice (SP) mag for $25. Didn't really need the mag, but got curious as to if it was manufacturer marked. It was late here, books on the bedroom desk. Looked it up this AM and seen same info you posted. Stayed up waaay too late trying to find that darn bayo lug I seen like Roger/Bubba had posted about.
    And still can't find it!

    Thx Again,
    Charlie

I've been watching his bayo lug post on the CMPicon forum, nothing much happening with it yet. I'll take another look at my (SP) mag to see if the floorplate looks like it's been messed with. I think I'm getting the "bug" almost as bad as some you "carbine nuts." I often take notes of things I've seen on the forums, and then spend hours doing my own research in the books that I have. - Bob

addition: Physically checked the (SP) mag and I had it cataloged wrong. It has a flat floorplate with a drain hole - doesn't look like it's ever been off the mag.
