    A rifle I forgot I had

    Dug this out.Took to range and shot it. I don't remember where or when I got it... It is an Austrian issue Kropatshek carbine. 8x60.

    That's a pretty interesting rifle to forget! The only "found" rifle I've had was a U.S. M1917 rifle. But I'm reasonably sure it's long since traded off. Wasn't anything that I didn't have better, so...

    There was 1 cartridge taped to the rifle. I don't remember doing that. I hit a 12" target at 100' shooting off hand. I took it to the OGCA yesterday. 1 person knew what it was. Now it's Back in the safe. here is one more picture.. gary

    I've always wanted one of those carbines. I have the rifle version w/o the top handguard. I haven't seen any ball ammo for sale in a long time. I only see the blanks for sale and I have a case of those. At one point I was going to pull the wooden bullet and black powder charge and load them up. I think buffalo arms carries formed brass for the rifle.
