She's a beauty! My '93 has been converted to a MkI CLLE.
Nice rifle. how many lands does it have? seven or five?
I have this rifles not so distant elder sister, LSA, 1893, serial no 313 B., with the same issue date, 1 over 98, but no NZmarkings, your bolt has been re-numbered.
It looks as though sale marks(?) were filed out of the barrel ring and Nock's Form and then restamped. Could this rifle have gone out of service pre-WWII and then been "recalled" for that conflict?

Don't know, NZ often ground before stamping sale marks, i had a near mint Lithgowthat had been ground.
