Rough conditions at Lago Arenal Costa Rica

At the foot of the volcano. Every few hours it rains the clears up.


The camping conditions are very rough so we must be strong and wise in the ways of the jungle.


Survival rations are crude and running low.


Signs of rescue are looking dim and danger lurks around every bend in the trail. Wish me luck.

After a hazardous road march under constant watch by observers we escaped the central highlands and arrived at a safe haven over looking the end of the lake.

The cat looks as if it had been on the hard stuff for a long time.

Costa Rica is definitely on my global "to do" list, because of the tremendous variety of flora and fauna, especially the birds.
