Scott Duffs article on "Barrel Usage on New M1
Rifle Production 1952-1957, Part 3 H&R Arms Company", GCA
Journal Vol. 14, Issue 2, shows the following HRA rifles with SA barrels dated before 10 of 53.
5724858 SA 4 53, 5762633 SA 11 52, 5768229 SA 5 52, 5775958 SA 5 52, 5779301 SA 3 53.
Scott goes on to say SA barrels began showing up in the 5722xxx range and mostly concluded in the 5789xxx range. the dates of barrels ranged from Sept 1951 through Feb. 1954, with the majority dated during 1953. Usage was not sequential by date.
