I need your help on two questions about the pictures IBM Carbine

Need your expert advice.
1. Is this walnut wood on the Carbine or some other type of wood. Seller says that stock is German replacement IBM Type 2 marked BR-B in sling recess. I can not find anything about the German stocks in my books.
2. I emailed him about the orange color in the front of the trigger house assemble, and asked if it could be grease, and he said copper brazing used to assemble this stamped type trigger housing. I have never seen any pictures like this before.

Any information on the above will be appreciated.

It's really hard to tell anything from the pictures shown. The trigger housing shown is definitely a type 4 stamped and brazed together one. IBM used that type for quite a lot of their production. The braze lines will run right down the center of the housing and should be really obvious. The color of the braze can be copper colored like yours to no real color at all. The only thing I'll say about the stock without better pictures is that it is within the color range of other IBM stocks I've seen. I hope it works out for you.

Looks like it might just be the light from the flash enhancing the color of the brazing.

With what Jim says, the brazing is correct but I've found usually the military finish hid the colour. It's when a refinish happens you can see it. The wood looks like dried out walnut. Give it a good oil treatment and it may just come around. I too have seen some other types of wood used on post war (WW2) carbines but I forget who did it.
