Guess #1:

8mm Lebel and 11mm Vickers anti-balloon incendiary/Mauser

Ding, ding, ding.......we have a winner!
Only correction is that I think the 11mm Vickers was actually an 11mm Gras clone, not a Mauser.

Ummm, dang. jonnyc is correct about the Gras origins. Don't know from what crossed neurons "Mauser" came.

This clip might be condidered kind of rare, used from WW1 to WW2Attachment 38155

I really, really, really need some of those clips! And some other parts to get the rifle running again. But I won't spoil the fun.

jmoore, where is ding, ding ding ? was your rifle modified for the 1932N cartridge with the N stamp on top ? I have seen some, I think that was crap about them being modified to straight pull.

Oh, my "little" project rifle may be the sorriest looking example out there. Buttstock looks set up for Pygmies. The butt is shortened from the front end, no less. Can't remember if the barrel is "N" marked or not. Have been looking for a mixmaster donor rifle with a good bore to supply the common parts. Have photos and drawings of the missing small front end bits.
