    Back to M1911A1 Small Parts...

    On "collector's Guide to Colt .45 service pistol from M Charles W. Clawson"
    At page 69 we can read; In April 1943, serrated slide stops, safety locks and mainspring housings were approved as an alternate method of manufacture.
    Remington rand began manufacturing serrated slide stops in about July 1943, followed later by serrated safety locks.
    In my opinion RR never adopted to EOP serrated safety locks!!!
    Did you encountered this method? For as far as I know only Ithaca adopted serrated safety locks at about 1943 #880'000.
