The other new carbine Saginaw SG 3.5

Found this one just walking around a show a week after the Inland, It was covered in dusty filth and the stock is very dry guessing it came out of a hot attic. Bonus it had a small buckle C-tip. The recoil plate at first appeared unmarked, but I noticed it appears to be stamped WSG on the under side on top of the screw hole, anyone seen or heard of this? Check out the pictures and give me your opinion, it is milled so rough it is barely legible but if you look at the pic of where it sits in the stock you can see it has been there forever by the imprint so I assume it is original.

The Type 3 recoil plates on two of my S'G's are marked W-S'G' in the same exact place. The supplier according to Ruth was Wadsworth Watch Case Co. - Bob

Nevermind I forgot they Stamped the S'G''s on the bottom, guess it made it on there somehow that was my big late night magnifying glass discovery.

Are there Robert Irwin markings in the slingwell? Also wondering about the finish on the bolt, almost looks parkerized but it's hard to tell from the pictures. Are there any identifying marks on the rear sight base? That base doesn't have as much contour on the top of the sides as one I have on an S'G'. I think mine was made by Jasper Blackburn. You sure somebody didn't steal that carbine out of a museum somewhere? - ones like that aren't supposed to be floating around gun shows anymore! - Bob

The bolt was blued turned mostly brown patina, it had some grease and oil on it in the pics, I believe the sight only has a S on the side, it is chisel staked. Iam pretty sure it came out of a attic very dried out and dusty filthy, it had been cleaned and oiled by the time the pics were taken , most of the sight blade was hidden in dirt and crud. At least the guy who had it just wanted to sell it not clean it or sand it down.

I think the economy is forcing them out, I just missed 3 more early featured guns two weeks before I found these.

It looks like a faint upside down RSG in the middle of the sling well but I couldn't get it to show up in pics, I think the illegible green ink stamp tells the story on that

No big story the guy was buying a box of ammo at a table in the middle of a gun show and I jumped him he handed it over I had no tools with me to take it down but it had that attic find look for sure, when he got done buying his box of 9mm I asked what he wanted and he handed over a copy of a Sam-T-Bob Gunbroker auction and said make an offer, and I told him I wasn't paying that but tell me what it would take and I'd give it a nice home with a some other nice carbines and he got down to brass tacks and I paid him. He was off to go look at a 500 S&W or something. The whole thing lasted 4 minutes. I assume he was just given it or bought it at a garage sale or something he didn't really have much attachment or knowledge other than telling me he opened and most parts said SG, and failed to properly re-install the barrel band over the catch and put the swivel on upside down.

I thought the pics made the bolt looked parked also. How are happening on these non messed with carbines? Wow.

There seems to be a number of them coming out of the wood work around here, I blame the economy Those are really the only carbines I collect I don't get a chance to purchase them often. I know another local guy here that just picked 3 out of a old collection, before I got there.
