This was my first rifle ever purchased. Spent my hard earned summer job money on her and a carbine. She's a Springfield Armory, serial number:
2, 750, XXX
which puts her birthdate around December of '44. I know from the markings she was rebarreled in '52, and her lock-bar style rear sight is correct for the birth date, but other than that, I'm lost. Paid $950 for her. You guys know what I'm going to say next.... How'd I do and tell me a little bit about my old gal concerning originality!
