    Restored M1 feed problem

Back in 1992, I purchased an M1icon off the bargain rack at a local gun shop. I chose this Blue Sky import for its 8xx,xxx serial number. Today the rifle has been restored to like new. It has a new Criterion barrel from CMPicon, black walnut stock from Dupage trading and it has been reparkerized. All the other parts are original and correct for the August 1942 receiver. The gunsmith who installed the barrel and did the parkerizing test fired five rounds.
I loaded a number of clips with new 150 gr. FMJ and headed to the range. When I squeezed off round #7... "B-BAM-TING". It slam-fired the last round. I stripped the weapon and inspected everything visually. I loaded a second clip and on the seventh round "B-BAM". This time the bolt closed without ejecting the clip. I retired the M1 for the rest of that session at the range. It is now back at the gunsmith but may be some time before he gets around to it. Have any of you folks ever experienced a similar malfunction? Thanks, Fred
