I've shot some in Vietnam, and had some in the past here at home. Sold off my last two boxes.
You need to be careful with your surroundings. One of our members here shot some and had to put out the grass. No joke.

Jim, I herd about that. If I remember right the Fire Dept. was called. I don't think I will be shooting it when it's dry.....Frank

Tracer rounds are a FELONY in California. I was a vendor at a gunshow in the late 80s or early 90s where CA DOJ took a seller out in handcuffs because he sold a box of WW II 30-06 tracers from his collectable ammunition table. He was an elderly man in his 70s who dealt only in collectable ammo. What a joke.... It was just after the Roberti Roos assault weapon ban was passed, and they would cover gunshows in force to arrest evil gun dealers.

We used to buy tracers by the crate in the 60's. I had a few left about 10 years ago and most would not ignite when fired. Getting old is no fun. GK

Worse yet
In Calif each round is a felony count. There have to be a million or so rounds kicking around the state. Look for something like this in the new federal laws. I understand that AP is going to be banned as well. There are many millions of AP out and about.

Unknown quantity of 7.62X39 tracer here in Canada
that was imported a couple of years ago, just showed up in regular shipments to dealers. IIRC the cases were priced at $199.99/1240 rounds and were not well marked as being tracer.
It was a hit and miss situation as I think no one ever checked to see what was marked on any case.
I would love to have the box of .30 carbine for my collection, even a empty box.
Why use a 50 pound bomb when a 500 pound bomb will do?

It tore my heart out to see the look on his face as they led him out in handcuffs. He was a nice old guy, either a WW II or Korean war vet, retired, and sold collectable ammo at all the shows. It made me ashamed of my law enforcement profession, to treat an elderly, honored vet like that. Those jerks weren't real cops, just political lackies. Its been over 20 years, and I still get enraged whenever I think about it. I never heard what happened to him in the end. I never saw him at any shows after that. Sad...
