MAS 49 and 49/56

Good evening everyone:
I'm on the lookout for a nice MAS 49 or 49/56 to round out my French collection, if anyone (in Canada) has one or knows of one, I would appreciate it if you would drop me a pm. There doesn't seem to be a separate forum thread for French Military Firearms, so have to put this under general.

Jean Plamondon told me a few years ago that when the old Century opened the crates of MAS49s, they found about two dozen MAS49/56s. There are legal 49/56s but not nearly as many as the market will bear. I would think all of them have disappeared into the cabinets of old French army and Legion vets. The 49s are Syrian, and they appear periodically. The most traffic for Canadian buy and sell is on parallel site Canadian Gun Nutz.

Just to show the variety out there, I found a MAS49 in the old Gunrunner newspaper. Then, because I wanted to get an earlier model, I found a MAS44 on the CGN exchange listings. I sold the MAS49 in a deal with another rifle for a much more desireable third gun. I didn't look too seriously for any of these rifles, but found what I wanted after a while.
