Finally made the new No5 bark!

Took my 1947 Shirley to the 50-yard range for a few minutes today. Only had some Remington and S&B ball but she did pretty well... Shot pretty good groups for my eyes and fed reliably. I'm VERY pleased. It looks like a shooter!

Nice looking rifle. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed mine for almost 50 years. Fine rifles and so good to carry into the field. Perfect balance and feel at the shoulder. Guess I should quit gushing over these little jewels, but I have loved them a long time.

You are not alone. They are very distinctive and quite the trap when I spot one for sale. Even if it is not what I am looking for I cant seem to help myself.

Thanks guys! I love my No5's! They are fantastic rifles that I find very handy as I'm a lefty rifle shooter. Much easier to manipulate the action from the left on a Lee Enfield action than a Mauser type. I didn't take pics of the target as I didn't have much time on the range and put too many rounds through it to make a pretty target. I'll try to put a range report together after I put some HXP through it. I've been looking for a Shirley for a long time and I recently was in the right place at the right time.
