NM 1903 on GB With Questionable Star Barrel. Opinions ??
1903 Springfield 1903A1NM 1936 SRS letter : Curios & Relics at GunBroker.com
Look at the barrel star ?? I thought NM barrels were C-64111 and 112 ? Should the P proof be on the bottom of the barrel if NM ? . No star record numbers . Has a SRS letter ??. others input opinions welcomed . Nice looking rifle but flags are waving . Thanks Lt1

The Star Gauge "mark" doesn't look right and I agree, if there was a record number, it should be pictured. The markings shown are, I believe, the steel lot code. The stock number doesn't match the serial number. (I take that back, MAYBE it does).
More significently, the SRS record does NOT show it as a NM, but simply that the receiver was replaced.
Too many questions about this one - I would pass.
