    Frangible bullets where used to train gunners. They could actually be shot at real armored aircraft. If that's what you have they date to WW2. The bullets are powdered lead? I just read about this subject but I can't remember where. Somebody will be along shortly to confirm what they are but I'm 99% sure.

    Bakelite, IIRC. But may have had some lead added into the mix.

    Realized where I read about these.. Liberty tree collectors has them for $15.00 per 5 round clip in the collectible ammo section.
    It's been buggin me all day.!!!
    Odd bullet,indeed made with Bakelite. That stuff had a 1000&1 uses it seems.
