Not sure if this the right place to post, but here is some ammo...I was told not to shoot it.. what is it? Roy

Frangible bullets where used to train gunners. They could actually be shot at real armored aircraft. If that's what you have they date to WW2. The bullets are powdered lead? I just read about this subject but I can't remember where. Somebody will be along shortly to confirm what they are but I'm 99% sure.

Thanks...pulled one out of the clip SL 45 what ever that means. Roy

45 = 1945

Bakelite, IIRC. But may have had some lead added into the mix.

Realized where I read about these.. Liberty tree collectors has them for $15.00 per 5 round clip in the collectible ammo section.
It's been buggin me all day.!!!
Odd bullet,indeed made with Bakelite. That stuff had a 1000&1 uses it seems.
