Ross stripper clips?
This may be a dumb question, but what type of stripper clip does the Ross MkIII use? I tried loading one from a normal Enfield clip once, and had no luck at all - should I assume that was poor technique and maybe a mangled clip, or is there a proprietary type of clip for the Ross? I didn't really try it very hard before just deciding to load the rounds individually...

I used the same clips. Same technique. Ammo in, bolt forward to clear the clip.

Alrighty, I'll give the Enfield clips a less half-hearted attempt when the IIIB arrives. Thanks!

I'm not sure it will matter, remember there are earlier and later clips...maybe worth sorting for. After all, you aren't likely to have to bet your life on it. A couple will do.

Well, firstly, they're not clips, they're Chargers!
My Mk.III happily accepts several variations in charger that I have and functioned well in a Mad Minute practice a couple of weeks ago.
Make sure that your bolt stop is in the UP position, not down in the cut-off position.

It's simple really; clips go into the rifle with the rounds and are ejected when the ammo is expended. Think Garand
.
Chargers are a carriage device and are used to CHARGE the rifle with ammunition. Then they are discarded.
Life is made harder by our friends across the pond who call anything - including magazines - a clip!

One day maybe you people will learn to answer his question and not try to school me in things I already know and no longer care about. I know this helps you increase your useless post count, but please, give me a break.
