    What do I have?

I bought this with a number of items and don't have any idea what it is. Perhaps a casting for M1 or M14icon receiver?

Is it half an inch or half a yard long? Made of titanium, or toffee?

Seriously, the first information needed is
    a) material
    b) dimensions

before making any guesses or deductions!

Rick, Looks like an M1icon alright.. I scaled a receiver photo in my CAD software and overlayed an outline of your casting (in Yellow). Perfect fit! Salt Flat

It appears to be plaster of Paris but harder. Looks full size as my m1

Then it is not a casting itself, but seems to be a pattern for making a sand mold for casting.

I would agree. Anybody need one? I'm not casting receivers. :-)
