    13-336 Garand Picture of the Day - Rangers Algeria



    Two Ranger corporals, Robert Bevin and Earl Drost, both from Iowa, cover a Frenchicon gun battery above Arzew harbor in Algeria on November 8.



    Original First Ranger Battalion Roster, June 19, 1942
    at the Commando Training Depot, Achnacarry, Scotland.


    Drost, Carl, Pfc.
    Bevan, Robert M., Pfc.


    The 1st Ranger Battalion marching over hilly Algerian terrain in late January 1943, shortly before the raid against an Italianicon outpost at Sened Station in southern Tunisia.




    Burying U.S. soldiers killed in action in early December 1942. This temporary cemetery was at Les Andalouses, near Algiers.
