    French 49/56 at Hamburg Cabelas

Thought I would let those that live close enough know that when I stopped in at Cabelas last evening, they have a Frenchicon 49/56 for sale again nearly identical to the one I purchased a month or so ago. This one does not have the rubber butt pad but is priced the same at $399. I'd call to verify it is still there before making the trip

Bit far for me, but it's tempting.

Tempting, but I'm really torn on these.
7.5mm - More authentic, more reliable, but tough to find enough decent ammo.
7.62mm - Easy feeding, but the CAI monkeys that converted them usually/often did a poor job and the really suffer in the reliability dept.

I have not heard any good news about the CAI conversions. It can be done but it may take some further gunsmithing to get it right. I was fortunate enough to get a couple hundred rounds with my MAS 36.
