    Do a search for "Sticky Bolts" and you should find your answer and possible fix. Fairly common with Mosin Nagants, common causes are laquered ammo, dirty chamber, minor mechanical issue.

    Just had a look at a few standard Mosin bolts- the distance (lever arm) from center of bolt to mid knob is only 1.9inch. An M1917 Enfield, in comparison, is 2.5inch, making for much easier bolt opening. My PU sniper with its longer bolt feels much lighter.
