    M1911A1 Barrel Marking

    I have a 1942 Colt M1911A1 with barrel markings -
On the underside in front of the lugs is a small "s"
On the chamber (visible through the ejection port) is the number "14"
The barrel finish is a dull metal colour.
The frame has a 779xxx serial number.
Can anyone help with identification of this barrel?

Barrel should be blue, marked COLT45AUTO on left side, P on left side of Barrel Lug and a Small G or Large G (size both are capitol) On bottom of barrel just forward of barrel lug. I think in your serial number was still using small G being used.
