7.7 japanese load data
Hi, I have just purchased some reloading supplies for my T99 arisaka so I can finally shoot it. I found the powder load on hodgdon.com for h335 powder but am struggling to find any case dimensions for it. I don't beleive this is a SAAMI spec round. Is there a good website that I can get all the load data that I need or does anybody know all of the dimensions for this round?
-thanks

Depending on who you believe, the body diameter just forward of the rim is either 0.476" or 0.471"
Norma used to do the brass and loaded ammo.
I understand that Privi Partizan in Serbia are making it these days, though not in huge runs.
Chambers can be a "little" larger in diameter than one would expect. Late war ones are sometimes "agricultural" to say the least, but they work. Just don't expect a lot reloads from your brass.
Any good .311 / .312 bullet of about that weight will do. Power-wise, it is pretty much on a par with .303.
Thus, loading data for .303 is a good place to start. Original bullet is , I recall, about 184gn.

Thanks for the good info guys. I finally got my reloading bench all set up and I did a batch of .45acp. I'm excited to shoot my arisaka. It is an early Nagoya 2nd series from 1939 so I expect dimensions to be on par with what it should be.
