    8 x 57 IS Loads

    Hallo,

i'm trying to define a "accuracy load" for my new toy ( a nice 89/29 Brno
persian mauser ) i would like to utilize in some nat. match

till now i made some test with the classic loads :

    IMR4064/4895 - 43,6 - Sellier&Bellot 196 gr FMJ - OAL 3.157 - CCI BR2
    Vitha N150 - 45,8 / 46,5 - Sellier&Bellot 196 gr FMJ - OAL 3.157 - CCI BR2
( Fed 210 GM Match should be better but ....recently very difficult to find )
( Sierra MK 200 HPBT also work just barely better then the ...cheaper S&B )
.....and the result was honest with groups of 1,5"/ 2" about at 100 yds ( open sight )

Well , to continue the search , and try to improve the performance i would like test
the W748 ( i could have it available from a friend ) ....but i have some doubt
about it because the burning rate of this powder against the weights ( 196/200 gr )
of the bullets i have ( despite the H.co. tables say it could work )

any of you have some experience about this "bullet weight/powder mix" ?

Thank you in advance for opinions and/or experiences from you

    regards

    CC

Just checked our ADI load data none given for W748.

Nick Harveys 9th edition lists W760 with 200 gn 61 min 64 max

Perhaps the W748 is too fast?
