    Located a Winchester

I was at my local gun shop yesterday and spied a 1.33 mil Winchester with all the early accouterments. The stock was the only thing not original. It was a cut down to low wood Inland type I. Well worn but original nonetheless. Price, $1200.00. Ouch! It's there on consignment and the shop owner, Ernie, said the owner would not budge on the price. It almost looks chromed the finish was so worn I'll try to get some pictures tomorrow.

It is amazing how people go nuts over Winchesters. I'll bet that on average, there is a 30% higher price just for that name. While they are great weapons, they are no better than say a NPM or IBM. I do admire the fact that they made most of their own parts including the wood, but beyond that they are just a good gun. In my experience, they have a tougher finish than some.

Bill, is that a spring tube?

I did not get back to the shop where the carbine was. I went to his other shop but I may get there this week.
