Mark IV test drive
Just came over from CSP
so I thought I'd leave my "mark on the post." A couple weeks ago I received a Mark IV long lever from IMA. It was in the best condition of any I've received from them. I had the punies from a cold and couldn't hold off hand worth a darn but see no reason why it shouldn't be a very satisfying shooter. One thing I noticed with the M IV was that I tended to put my thumb into my nose with the same hold that works fine on a II or III. Also, the longer lever required some getting used to. It is still not as fast for me as the short levers. It looks like posting pics should be fun here so I'll give that a try later.

Posting pictures is simple. Crop them and size them with your photo software so they are no wider than 7 inches or 575 pixals wide at 72 dpi. Up load your pictures to one of the free photohosting sites like photo bucket. Copy the IMG code from the photo site and paste it in the post. You don't have to do anything else.
The long levers have a reputation for being the best shooters of all the MH's, but I still find the long lever awkward.

Long Levers
I have 4 of the NoIV's and all of them have excellent bores. 3 are Enfield manufacture and 1 is an 1895 BSA replacement receiver. I agree they are great rifles. Here are a couple pics:

Just curious & my imagination has failed me....what is that white "bandage" around the left hand rifle?

That bonerhill one struck a nerve. I have a 45 calibre carbine I bought at a show. The odd thing is it has a converted by bonehill for the miniature rifle clubs on the reciever.
So was it converted to .22 and then back to .45? Or did they just mark the reciever and stop there?
Also have a Mk2, a Mk3 two Mk4's a cav carbine and an artillery carbine, plus several .303 conversions in both rifles and carbines.

Back to the Mark IV. I just got back from an AZ visit to a son and grandson. I don't have that much in common regarding firearms with my son. He doesn't like muzzle loading - too much trouble/slow. High power rifle is too harsh, as are magnum handguns. I took the Mark IV and 10 rounds mainly for my shooting pleasure. I popped a couple rounds. He was impressed that it didn't blow up in my hand an thought he might give it a go. Seven rounds later he turned it over to me for the last shot. I have rarely seen this kid so much as crack a smile - he actually had a grin. It's good to know that my MH collection will have a home for years to come.
