Witch model to go for, a Beaumont or a M71/84
Hello all.
A fellow shooter at the local range is selling some guns. Among them a Beaumont and a Mauser M71/84. The condition is good on them.
Any weak, strong points on them? Action? Ant tip on witch to go for?
Thanks for looking.

If you want a shooter, go for the M71/84. Lee makes a cheap die set, and cases are available. The Beaumont will be an expensive problem for dies and cases.

Yes, it is a shooter I am seeking.

I have a Beaumont and it is a fascinating rifle. It's been cut down and was in rough shape but I cleaned it up into a nice shooter. The problem is, I have no ammo for it and no prospects for getting any. That being said, the only advantage I can see on the Beaumont is price wise, it should be about a third what the M71 will run.

Hm, no brass around for the .43 Beaumont?
The look and feel on the Beaumont is good, I like it. But, I also like to take the gun to the range now and then.

You can make them from 50- 90 brass.
