My SA M1icon, no. 3545400, is supposed to have a -16 trigger housing, at least according to every book and on-line resource I've checked. It has a -14 in it now, BTW. I've been looking for a few years now, at many gun shows and on line, and have never seen even one. A couple of people that I've talked to have told me that in fact there is no such thing! I'm beginning to believe it. Based on the resources I've looked at, there were about 100,000 rifles built in the March 1945 timeframe that should have this part installed- that's a lot of rifles!
So, does anybody have any insight on this?
Are the references wrong? Do they exist- if so, where are they all?
