    1905 Bayonet

I have a 1905 bayonet made in 1910 that came with the outer canvas cover but no inner sleave. I'm told the inner sleave is made of wood and wraped in rawhide. Is there someone on this forum who might have one for sell or know where I might find one ? Thanks for looking.

You might buy one of the repro 1910 scabbards from What Price Glory and use the inner sheath. They are nothing like an original, although they are described as being made of hard rawhide, but one might work. You may be able to find an original inner sheath which is missing the cover on eBay but it will be a long search.

Good early scabbards for these are not common nor cheap. I have seen ones without outer leather on EBAY but they usually come with a blade so not cheap. It may be easier to buy another and then sell the old one to help offset the costs

Thanks Guys, I'll think these ideas over and if things work out, I'll let the board know. BYW, Is the old Smithy the same as the owner of the surplus company ?
