    1903a3 trigger

    The trigger on my Remington 1903a3 suffered from a very annoying amount of creep. Pull weight was fine but it would travel another 1/8 inch after the first stage take up before it would finally break. After picking up a couple triggers and sears to try in it I found this.

    The trigger on the right is the original out of my rifle. Is this normal mid war machining or did I just get a bad one?

    More pictures. the red shows the difference between the original trigger and one of the ones I got to replace it.

    After replacing just the trigger creep is almost gone. It still has a slight amount but it is livable. Not quite up to my Swede but close.

    the trigger itself has nothing really to do with {creep}
    creep comes from the bearing surface of the back of the sear, and the front of the cocking rod,
    shortening those areas will change the creep,
    polishing the areas that you have shown, as well as other areas, will smooth the feel,
    shortening the rebound spring will lighten the feel.
    careful with messing with that cam area...you can loose the 2 stage pretty easy, and have a long drawn first stage..
    rule of thumb...if your not sure of what your doing...stop.. dont do it.

    That's why I stuck with just swapping parts. I have a couple other sears to try. Maybe I'll try different cocking rods after Christmas.
    I do like the grooved trigger.
