Hollis Martini aperture sight
Mine is a Hollis & Son, Birmingham 577/450 rifle.
I have no need to hunt anymore except to take a particular rifle to the field. My 2016 elk hunt will be with this Hollis rifle. I load 35 grains IMR 4198, lots of teddy bear stuffing and hollow base cast bullets for 1,350 fps. My aging eyes would do better with an aperture sight.
I'm seeking an aperture sight fitted to the rear of the Martini action.
Referrals and suggestions are appreciated.

Over on the british martini site there used to be some threads on home made apature sites that atatched to the side of the action using modified bolts and pins (completely reversable).
Another thought would be to try an apature site that sticks to the lense of your glasses.

I made my own and changed the original pins for longer 1/4 bolts and modified the head but the sight works nicely. Bit of a write-up on the restoration and a look at the sight here LSA Martini Henry 577-450 I made another for my Martini Enfield in 303 initially with a straight arm but like the curved look better. I have a pattern if you would like to make one for yourself.

Hi von Gruff,
New member here, I found this while searching for just such a thing.
Will send a PM if your above offer is open to any and all.

Giday Mumbles Have replied positively to you PM via email. A few hours with hand tools and you rifle will really start to offer up its best potential with no permanent change to the action.
