Since I got a set of used early Russian plum colored wood AKM furniture (walnut, at that) back from my best friend, I decided to restore my factory configuration Saiga IZ132 featureless build, to a retro AKM build. It has the requisite kydex Solar Tactical paddle on the beautiful bakelite grip to make it "featureless so I can use my "Legally possessed by me in California prior to 1-1-2000" high capacity magazines.
Here's what I started with:
Then the restoration begins:
Then I have this!

BTW: Mags with green tape are filled with Chinese steel core ammo for hard targets, and the mags with red tape are full of 124 grn HP 8M3 "fragtastic" Sapsan Ulyanovsk loads for soft targets.
Very cool work buddy! The conversions are really neat to do. Your looks to be quite nicely done. Who's receiver did you use for this conversion? The wood has a really nice hue to it. How does she shoot?
It is a Saiga sporter that I "restored" by moving the trigger group forward. The top picture is what it looked like before. As far as shoots, DANG! It will do 2 MOA from a rest with Russian ammo. I have a red dot (vintage Tasco Accupoint shotgun scope) that is dead nuts on at 100 yards. SWEET shooter.

It is a "Tactical TriDelta Brake" from Custom Muzzle brakes. Its available for ARs in both 223 and 308/300Blk and AKs in 14x1mmL. I use one in 223 and also had one on my 300Blk
about 50 seconds in..
