STG 44 help with indentification

i might be lucky enough to buy an original STG44 in the near future, but it is time to do home work and i am not sure where i can find a forum or someone that can really help. the internet so far talks in general i need information on serial numbers, markings and stamps to look for and anything else to look for. i have never even seen one before in real life, so your help is very valuable thank you.
