DR on Stock
Gents, is DR a recognised stamping on a "Drill Rifle". There's a guy on another forum has just picked up a No4 Mk1* so stamped and he's been told it means "drill rifle".
It's not something I've seen before. The rifle is not deactivated in any way and he plans on using it as a shooter. If it is another country's designation for a DP, would I be right in advising him not to shoot it?

DR is definately NOT a recognised marking that I'd recognise. The DP stamp marks are usually accompanied by those big white bands or whatever colour the nation uses. Because it the stamped in markings ain't clear, guess what someone WILL try to do........? Yep, got it in one!
