New CMP M1 - This caught my eye - what do I have?

I usually lurk here rather than post - sorry for just seeking info. Last fall I purchased my first CMPicon M1icon and this forum was a great help to a newbee. I have since read a lot about M1s - still lots to learn.

I just picked up my 2nd SG Garand from CMP. I snapped a few photos before returning to work. I haven't broken this down yet, but a few things instantly caught my eye. It has a NM front sight. A barrel in the range of known NM rifles (see article here https://www.milsurps.com/images/impo..._zps2755-1.jpg) and some correct proofs for an NM barrel. What do I have here? Is this a NM rifle. It can't be an NM rifle... right? Also the right side of the buttstock has very faint large letter rack B2 approx 3 inches high.
