Help ID this Air Force crate

I found this old air force steel crate/container and I was wondering if anyone knows what might have been in it or if it's worth anything, before I take a wire brush to it. The shipping labels have been painted over. It seals up air tight with a rubber seal and latches that go all the way around. It has a port, for lack of a better word, where 2 big bags of desicant go. What appears to be some kind of moisture gauge and a pressure release valve. All it really says on it is "air force property." It has to weigh over a hundred pounds. Thanks for any help.
