Hi all, just came back from a gun show, picked up this little baby. Been looking for a P14 on and off for a little while and this seemed to be in pretty good condition. So now the stupid 'buy first, ask questions later.'
Has volley sights, front and rear, unit disk (w no markings), and canvas sling...no idea if that's ww1 or 2 vintage. The SN is preceded by a 'W.' Winchester? There is a small W stamp on the bayo lug but a small E stamp on the bolt release lever. Don't really see any other letters in the metal. On the wood, underneath at the wrist is maybe an E below the six-pointed star (star of david, not the asterisk star). Bottom in front of mag well is a V maybe? Left side of receiver, on extractor, is a regular 5-pointed star. Under the handguard is stamped 16 and the proof stamps.
Any help to fill in my large blanks on ID'ing this rifle?Information
