Different markings?

Hi all,

I have a Inland Carbine that something looked a little off to me or different. I placed it side by side with another one of my inlands and have taken two pictures. One of what I normally see on the front side of a carbine reciever and one that looks different. The stamps are smaller and the spacing between the Cal.30 and the M1. is more than I have seen before.

Is this just because of when it may have been stamped?

The small stamp is on a 6 digit inland if that matters.

Take the stocks off of them and look at the left side of the receiver for an SG stamping.

No saginaw markings on the left side. On the bottom just in front of the trigger assembly it looks like an A stamped

TenOC Sorry there is one with SG on the left side . It is the one that has the numbering close together like I am used to seeing.

Out of interest what is the barrel date? Doesn't help much due to how they were dated being different than when the rest of it was assembled but thought I'd throw it out there. My barrel is 7-43 and my Inland receiver (in the 480xxx range) is stamped the same way, never thought anything of it. I'll need to check for the SG mark but I don't recalling seeing one on mine either. The unusual stamping is the first image you posted with the wide spacing, right?

Edit: In looking at it, maybe it's just perspective on the pictures I have of mine. It looks like the picture on the left you posted but seems like mine may be normal after googling some pictures and comparing

Hi Barrel date is 4-43 Mine looks like yours in the picture. So is it the other Inland that is different? The one that has the SG stamp on the left? The barrel date on that one is 12-43 and it was a Royal Hong Kong Police Carbine.

Maybe. Not an expert in these, but it seems most of the Inlands in a quick search have the wide stamping like mine and the one on the left. I'm sure someone with more knowledge will chime in soon.

There are at least 6 different variations of that marking group. Some have different spacings others have 2 periods instead of one.
