Time for a new and correct Milsurps illustration

I love Lee-Enfields, especially the sniper versions. It always bothers me that the illustration for the Milsurps banner shows a nice No. 4 MK. I (T) or No. 4 MK. I* (T) but with the sling mounted in a totally unique way, one which was never used by the military as far as I know. The rear sling swivel is mounted immediately behind the grip! As well the sling swivel in front of the magazine appears to be the tall 360-degree rotating target swivel rather than the sniper one.

Picky? Yes. There is the embarrassment of using an incorrect illustration for a wonderful knowledge exchange forum. As well, we would all share the horror if an owner used that photo as a reference and drilled and cut into their original sniper rifle butt and mounted their sling swivel there, thus permanently damaging the rifle.

I therefore politely suggest that a more accurate image of a No. 4 MK. I (T) or No. 4 MK. I* (T) be substituted for that erroneous one.

Look again, it's a completely correct 90L Long Branch sniper, it's just that the short loop of the the m1907 sling is partially cut off, and the centre loop is sideways.

Reminds me of a similar thread from 2012 ..

    LB Sniper on milsurps

Maybe we should start a contest for someone to produce (or pay for) a new site banner for us...

    Regards,
    Doug
